Overdue Photos of Projects I Have Finished

I made the fabric postcard for Mark from a photo when he and two other friends did a charity ride. The background is the skyline of downtown Chicago. Where the photo was taken is one of my favorite along Lake Michigan. I have many photos taken in the same place.
This is Mark's vest with the patches all sewn on.

Mail From Kate and Shirley

This postcard is from Kate at Kate's Quilting (&Other Fibre Arts) Blog
Kates postcard came all the way from the UK (to Illinois USA) without a clear plastic envelope and it is in perfect shape. Kate did a great job and I love this postcard. Kate Thank-you so much!!! This purse is from Shirley at shirley goodwin - dyeing2design blog
Shirley is the second person who I met blogging almost two years ago. I am a fan of her quilts and fabrics. I am so happy to have a piece of her work and love this purse, the colors and the design. Shirley Thank-you so much!

More From IQF - Saturday's Goodies

At lunch with Mark and other Pickles Mark signed Quilter's Home for us. For me he signed the premier issue and the first magazine with his name in the title. You need to check out this magazine.
Ann signed both books for me. Ann is also a Pickle and we have talked online so it was great to meet her in person and she lives close enough so we can visit each other. These books are written by Ann and her twin sister Amy. You need to see the quilts in these books. I have flipped through the pages and I can't wait to give the drunkards path a try. Ann and Amy's Easy Applique Curves technique is outstanding. You have to give it a try. I have had the Square in a Square ruler for some time and look forward to trying more options.I was taking photos of the journal quilts next to a stranger and she said to me we should just buy the book, so we did. I can't have enough books. And more booksI can't wait to use this.I have had Shiva Paintsticks and played with them now I can get to work using them after watching the DVD and reading the book. I watched the DVD in Laura Murray's booth about using foil on quilts and I am hooked.
I have wanted to try these inks now I can.
Hum which one to do first?
I have so many new toys, do you want to come over and play?
If you are in Chicagoland please stop by and share with me!

WIP - Wednesday 03-28-2007

I have not been blogging becauseI have been under the weather. I also have nothing to show from the studio, but I do have a very clean studio. As soon as I am feeling better I will be back in the studio because I am so far behind.

I have not been out of the house for a week and yesterday I walked around looking at all the flowers that are popping out of the ground. Spring is here and I can't wait for warmer weather.

Joanna from SerenityisBliss received the postcard I made for her. I used Joanna's hand dyed fabrics which are both cotton and silk. The fabric colors are outstanding and just perfect for a beach scene.

I hope to be back in full swing soon!

Package from Nancy is Here and I Am So Lucky!

Here are the fabrics Nancy send me. Nancy asked what colors I wanted and she send me oranges, yellows, browns and blacks. The photo does not do justice to the real colors. All the colors are washed out and in the photos the brown is way to dark and the blacks look blue.

THANK-YOU NANCY the fabric is outstanding, I love them!!!!

I did finish my postcard for Joanna today. I am going to wait to show a photo until Joanna receives it in the mail. I will mail next week.

Have A Great Evening!

It's Raining, No It's Snowing, No It's Rain

March is the month of unknown weather here in Chicagoland. Over night it was thundering and lightening, snow pellets and raining. Today sky is grey and it keeps raining. It is a great day to stay inside and sew. The dogs do not want to go out and when they do they are not sure whats going on.

Southeast side of the back yard

Northwest side of the backyard. The fenced part is where the pool goes in the summer. Last winter Summer dug holes in the sand and the river wash the sand away. Not sure the river will not wash the sand away this winter.

I am sewing string blocks today. I am going to start my postcard on Friday and work on it this weekend. I have the pattern copies and I am going to cut the templates tonight when I watch TV. Saturday I will be cutting and fusing the fabric. I am looking forward to see how it turns out.

Have A Great Evening!

New Mail Surprise

I just love this postcard! I was one of the first five people to leave a comment on Digital Gran's blog a few weeks ago and Mags sent this postcard to me. I have been reading Digital Gran blog for many months and love the work Mags does. If you have not stopped by her blog please do so I am sure you will enjoy it as much as I do. Mags did not know I love hearts and still she sent me a postcard with hearts. It truly is my luck day.

I am making more postcards for Heart-2-Heart Postcard Project. The link is on my sidebar.

I also need to make Chicago Bears neckerchiefs for the dogs. My sister asked for one for her Chocolate Lab Carmella. She went to the pets stores and could not find any.

Thank-you everyone who posted the past few days about my postcards, 200th posting and birthday. You fill my heart with your kind words and encouragement.

Have A Great Day!
