Knitting and Rag Quilts

This is knitting Day 3 progress.

This is my son's quilt that I made with his blue jeans and flannel shirts. I saved his jeans from the time he was 6 months old, he is now 20. I have also added some jeans and shirts from my husband and mine. I made the middle from cotton. I chose the star because he is was the High School USA National Champion on Still Rings and still holds the record with a 9.9 score.

I made this quilt for my second son also using his jeans, flannel shirt and those of my husband and mine. Also started saving jeans and shirts from when he was 6 months old and he is now 15. The middle is cotton and the block design is for his name.

I am working on Novembers Gratitude Quilt and still cutting fabric for class next week. I am going to the Greater Quilt Exposition in Schaumburg, Illinois. I live only 3 miles away and could not passed up the opportunity. The fabric is for class on Saturday, 11/10, Shhh...It's A Secret taught by Jackie Robinson. We need a feature Fabric, Bright Accent, Light and Dark Background. I am not sure my bright accent is bright. Oh well I am trying to use fabric in my stash.

Have A Great Weekend!

Wow, saving all those jeans over time is quite ambitious. The jean quilts look great. Thanks for your comments on my blog. Terri

Nice quilts - denim and flannel shirt quilts always look good I think.

Ohh, those are nice! I like the combo of denim and red. Did you save all the zippers and pockets to do something else with?

Hi Debbi, I love what you have done with the denim and flannel. I never would have thought to put the two together in that way...but it's so great! And seems like a perfect combination. My hat is off to you..*VBS* Hugs, Finn
