Wednesdays WIP - Photos

The weather here is chicagoland is cold, grey and it is raining. The dogs are curled up in bed, the house is quiet and I am in the sewing mood.

Today I am working on my mystery quilt from class last week and holiday fabric baskets. I have not made these baskets in years so I have to figure out how I made them. It is very easy, fast and fun to make.

Here is a link to the GCQE Greater Chicago Quilt Exposition photos that I took from last week. I did not get photos of all quilts. For each photo I tried to get the quilts information sheet.

Have A Great Day,

Debbi

I like those baskets - they are on my 'to do' list - I have a copy of Kaffe Fassett's Caravan of Quilts and the instructions are in there. I must get round to them - they are so nice to put gifts in for Christmas - if only I didn't have to go out to work!

I too am snuggled in sewing...by the fire...with all of my "boys" gathered round me snoozing. :) My husband is traveling, it would have to be today, to St. Louis, MO. I just hope he doesn't get stuck in Cinn. on his way. Debbi, would you consider posting a tutorial on making the fabric baskets? :)

Cute baskets ! I love Chanukah fabric and have a pretty good collection of it. Not easy to find here in North Texas though : )

I remember those baskets from ago. . .they are cute and handy. I believe they are the right size for napkins.

I love your basket. I made some baskets the same shape, but not quilted. I did mine from an article in Maggie Grey's On-line magazine WOW. I will try and post one on my blog. I would like to try yours too. I keep my ever growing stock of lipsticks in mine. I'm never happy with the colours of the lipstick!

I am making another basket as I type this comment. I have been taking photos of each step. I hope to publish my instructions within a day or two.

I love the baskets! I too will spend the day sewing. I am working on a shared quilt with my Dear Mom Suze. The timeline for completion is February 14 since it is a pink heart quilt.

Those baskets look like they would be handy to have on hand for those last minute gifts that you never plan for! Look forward to the tutorial.
