Thank-you everyone who answered my question about beads in yesterdays post.
Today I will be working on more postcards.
Helen for Honey Bunch Quilting ask what the US Postal Rules are for postcards are. I am not sure what the official rules are but the address has to be readable, proper postage and size. Postage should be 24 cents but most all crafter are putting 39 cents on for safety. I am not sure about embellishments like beads or buttons. I think you need to have postcards with them hand stamped. I bet they will not make it safely and may be ripped off when they get to the addressee.
Have A Great Day!

In case I don't talk to you before then, happy impending 50th! I have already been past this point, and I've decided to stay here for a while.
I'm 50 in two weeks too! (on the 14th) I'm still thinking on how to acknowledge this event. I'll watching to see what you get up to.
should I recognize AARP?
I have received lots of postcards with embellishments and have mailed some as well. Never had a problem with embellishments coming off. My post office is always very willing to hand cancel and not charge extra, but I hear some are not. I have also received cards that have been placed in transparent envelope for mailing. I much prefer to receive them without the envelopes but can see why some people who use lots of embellishments would want to use them.
This whole postcard thing is intriguing me... I dont know anything about them, apart from seeing them on many blogs- & they look wonderful.
And, living in Australia, what the heck is AARP??
And Many Happy Returns for your 50th! Mine seems so long ago now. My beloved husband paid for my mother to fly over to stay with us for mine & it was a real surprise & treat!
Welcome to the "club"! It has it's dubious benefits... ha! I had been told that the embellished postcards should be placed in the cellophane envelopes designed for this purpose, but then, naturally, that would drive up the cost of postage.
Fifty two cents is required for fabric post cards, and I've sent ones with beads and buttons with no problem. I just mail them from my mailbox too.
I've not tried doing these yet, but it looks like fun! After I get done with my current WIP's I might just have to give them a try. :)
