Wall Quilt Progress

I am making progress with my wall quilt. I completed the water background and I like how it turned out. For the outer larger bronze ring I used a circle rubbing plate and Shiva Oil Paintstik to create the texture. Before I can fuse the bronze rings I need to let the Paintstik cure for 24 hours. Once the Paintstik is cured I will cut it to the correct size and fuse the background and rings together.

I have played with the Paintstiks before and did not like how it turned out.... lack of user knowledge. When I was at IQF I purchased the DVD Paintstik Inspirations! with Laura Murray and the book Paintstiks on Fabric by Shelly Stokes. Both the DVD and book are very good and showed many techniques. I will be using the Paintstiks again on other projects.

I am not sure what I will name this quilt. I am thinking "Maritime". I am open to ideas so let me know what you think?

Your quilt is looking good. Thanks for recommending that DVD. I have been intrigued by paintstiks. Your texturing looks great.

the bronze circles look great. I love the texture from the paintsticks. the background colors bring to mind the sea and all its beauty, with the compass design, maritime is a fitting title. Or maybe something less literal like Sea tracks, or Adrift in a blue state of mind..or well you can go on and on LOL Maritime is good!

That is certainly an interesting project you're working on. It's amazing how much easier it is to do things if you find out how first! It looks like paper piecing in your future.
