No Reply Comments

Nichole and Violette you both are no reply. I could not send you an email but I wanted to say Thank-you for stopping by my blog and leaving your comments. If you have a blog please let me know so I can stop by.

Violette you asked how long it took to do the sun print leaves. The day I did the sun printing the sun was shining and temps we in the high 80's. The fabric dried in 30 minutes and I was able to remove the leaves. I hung the fabric on the clothes line for a few more hours because I need the table to do more sun printing.

When The Sun Shines I Paint and Dye Fabric

Yesterday and today the weather here in Chicagoland is outstanding. The sun is bright, not to humid and little wind. Perfect weather to paint and dye fabric. To days painted and dyed fabric is batching in the sun.

Here is the fabrics from yesterday.

I think this is going to be a whole cloth and
just quilted.

Sun printed with leaves. This is going to get cut up for postcards.

I am still having trouble with my Internet. I am thinking my wireless router is the problem. I may have to buy an new one. The one I have is 6 years old. I have been using the computer in the den which is very old and slow. I built it 8 years ago and need to rebuild it with new hardward. I have been slowly reading emails and posting and will catchup later to night.

I have joined a new Yahoo Group Called Jewish Quilters - The Kosher Pickles. The first few members met because we are on other groups and wishes each other A Happy New Year. I am truly amazed at what can be done on the world wide web. Everyday I learn something new, see something new and met new people from all around the world.

Thursday Is Almost Over, Five Minutes Left

Today I played in the pool and read outside for most of the day. I know I have said this before but I love this weather. When I think summer is almost over and soon I will be taking the pool down for the winter I get very sad. It is not that I do not like fall or winter, it is just summer is my favorite time of the year.

I have more ideas for sun printing and I have been collection leaves from the flowers and trees in back yard. I also have an idea for an art quilt with photos from around my house. I am going to start taking photos this weekend.

I want to do some over dyeing of commercial fabrics I have in my stash. Has anyone done this? How did you do it? How did it turn out?

Now is it 12:01am so I am going to say bye until later.

Sunday and Monday Studio Time

The weather is great is Chicagoland so I took advantage of the bright sunny skies. I used CDs and water bottle caps for sun printing. I love how these turned out. I have washed the fabric and they are not as bright.

More sun printing using leaves.

I needed more sky fabric so I dipped a sea sponge in resist and then stamped it on the fabric. I will be using this fabric as back ground for more flower garden art quilts.

I have been spending a lot of time outside enjoying the pool, sun and reading Quilted Memories By Lesley Riley. I have come to a stand still with my monthly 12 X 12 Family Tree Art Quilts and this book is giving me many ideas. I recommend this book, it is great reading, full of photos and ideas.
Late in the afternoon if I do not take a nap I have been spending time in the studio making more flower garden wall quilts. I am saving photos for WIP Wednesday, which is tomorrow. This week sure is flying by fast.

Photoshop Elements

I need help with layers in Photoshop Elements 3. If anyone knows how to do them please let me know. I have read a few books and looked for help online but I am just not getting it. My mind has turned to s**t.

Today I spent part of the day cutting fabric into FQ so I can take them outside and do some surface design on them in the warm Chicagoland weather. I have been making stamps out of foam and collecting object for sun printing.
