Great News and More Fabric Painting

Several weeks ago my #2 son had a seizure and has not had one since and only one migraine. He had a Cat scan, EEG and MRI over the past few weeks. All tests came back normal. THIS IS GREAT NEWS!!!! Because his migraines are only happening once or twice a month he will not take maintenance meds but only when he feels like he is getting a migraine. He is like millions of people, mom, aunt, dad and cousins who just migraines for no reason.

This is the fabric I sun printed a few weeks ago. On Saturday I painted leaves and stamped the fabric where the sun printed leaves were. I got the leaves from my trees and painted the backs and placed the leaves on the fabric and rolled over the leaves. I really like how these turned out. You can see in the closeups the great prints the leaves left. I also stamped white muslin with leaves. I will post photos another day.

WIP - Wednesday 09-26-2007

I started painting this yesterday evening. The design in from the book Iron On Transfers from the heart. I've had this book for over fifteen years and used it many times.

I will be adding more embellishments, borders and then quilt it.

Now, I am off for my 6 mile walk, then back home to my studio to paint and computer time.

Have A Great Day!

Busy Times Again

I had dyed fabric from a few years ago the was ugly so I over dyed and painted it on Sunday. I made a Star of David stamp from foam shapes and glued it to wood. Below is the fabric drying on the fence. I am going to use this fabric for Hanukkah Postcards and trade with my Jewish Quilters Group.

Stamped Star of David on white muslin then over dyed with Navy MX dye.

All the fabric below was old ugly dyed fabric and I over dyed it.
Because the sun was so bright you can see the fence thru the fabric.
The colors are also washed out from the bright sun. I have not washed the
fabric so I am sure the colors will washout a bit.

I have no plans for this fabric so I will add it to my stash.
Early today I mono printed old ugly dyed fabric and will post photos tomorrow.
The new TV season is starting so I am off to watch the new shows.
Take Care!

When The Sun Shines I Paint and Dye Fabric

Yesterday and today the weather here in Chicagoland is outstanding. The sun is bright, not to humid and little wind. Perfect weather to paint and dye fabric. To days painted and dyed fabric is batching in the sun.

Here is the fabrics from yesterday.

Painted and Dyed Cheese ClothSun printed with rocks, Painted and Dyed
I think this is going to be a whole cloth and
just quilted.

Sun printed with leaves. This is going to get cut up for postcards.

I am still having trouble with my Internet. I am thinking my wireless router is the problem. I may have to buy an new one. The one I have is 6 years old. I have been using the computer in the den which is very old and slow. I built it 8 years ago and need to rebuild it with new hardward. I have been slowly reading emails and posting and will catchup later to night.

I have joined a new Yahoo Group Called Jewish Quilters - The Kosher Pickles. The first few members met because we are on other groups and wishes each other A Happy New Year. I am truly amazed at what can be done on the world wide web. Everyday I learn something new, see something new and met new people from all around the world.

Plans Have Changed I am Home Today

I did not go with my son to Great Lakes Naval Base because I did not want to leave the dogs locked up in the kitchen for over 10 hours. Crystal and Max get into trouble when the have free run of the house, Summer is a good girl and does not get into any trouble when we are not home. My hubby and oldest son went and they will help cook, supervise and go for an assault craft ride.

Today I am still working in my studio clean and sorting fabric. I have run out of space and need to downsize my stash in my studio to bins in the screen porch.

Here are some more photos of the fabric I worked on last weekend. I can not wait until I finish cleaning my studio to get some of these up on the design wall and start creating.

I still have more photos and will save them for another day(s).

Hope you have a great weekend!

I Love The Warm Weather

I have been spending most of my days outside basking is the sun, reading, painting fabric and going for a walk each morning. Did I say how much I love the warm weather here in Chicagoland. I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I started walking in April and I could only walk a few blocks. I started the Women Challenge on Mother's Day and my goal was 10,000 steps (five miles) a day. In the beginning I was able to do 7000 steps (about three miles) in the morning and the rest of the day I did other 3000 steps. This week I am up to 10,000 steps in the morning. The rest of the day I do about 2000 more steps just walking around my house. When I was sick it was so hard to walk and took all of my energy. This week I feel almost back to normal so I was very happy when I was able to add another lap around the park each day.

Here is some of the fabric I was sun printing. It did not turn out so good.
Once I cut up the fabric it will be perfect.
This is my pool. It is 3 feet high and 18 feet wide.
These are my friends, who I float on a raft with each day.
They are my best friends because they do not say
anything when I am in my swimming suit.
