WIP Wednesday

WIP Wednesday - Leaf Season #3 under the needle and ready to quilt.

Finished Leaf Season #2

This is the hanging sleeve I make for my wall hangings. I cut and sew a "V" in the middle. I do this so I can hang the wall hanging by a nail or hook.

A few blogging friends have asked about me having cancer. I have only written about it once and that was a few weeks ago when I did blocks for Quilts 4 Leukemia project.

I have Myelodysplastic Syndromes MDS. The Syndrome I have is Refractory Anaemia with Excess Blasts. I was diagnosed in May 2004. I am doing OK. I just move slower, take naps, stay away from sick people and I am always cold. I am no longer able to work outside the house. Now I devote my time to my family and quilting. I am able to quilt, dye and paint fabric anytime I want. I have a great family and they are very supportive.

I am going to the Greater Chicago Quilt Exposition on Thursday thru Sunday. I will be taking 3 classes. I will not have much time to see the quilts on display when I am in class so I will do that on Sunday. I am lucky I only a few miles from the exposition.

Have A Great Day!

That is such a useful tip about cutting the V in the sleeve, I would never have thought of it! It will come in really handy for when I finish my Christmas wallhanging. Glad to hear that you are doing OK, health-wise.

The v is a great idea. What kind of sewing machine do you have? I have a Pfaff and it looks a bit like mine but I cant see the right side to be sure.

I have never made a wallhanging before. The lime and aqua is to be a wall hanging, so this is good information for me. Hope you are feeling better.
