Saturday Recap - NJROTC Pike Drill Meet

Yesterday we went to Indianapolis, Indiana with our sons NJROTC drill team for the Pike Drill Meet. We had to get up at 1:30AM to shower and get ready to leave the house by 3:00am. It is about 200 miles each way and a 4 hour drive to Indy so I knew it was going to be a very long day. Because there was room on the second mini bus Hubby and I did not have to drive on our own. Thank-you Commander for letting us ride on the bus.

Overall our team came in first place and took trophies in every event. Jacob finished in 2ND out of 224 cadets in the Unarmed Knockout Competition (a game like Simon Says). The cadets are given commands and Judges watch for wrong moves and improper formation. If they do something improper the are tapped on shoulder by the judge, they are "knocked out" and need to leave the competition.

Here are some photos.

Jacob getting his award.
OOPS not a good photo.

This is Master Chief doing push ups because the team finished in 1st place overall. Not bad for a guy who is 61.
